NEVER EVER GIVE UP by Osawe Izzi
I was always sick when I was little; everybody gave up on me except my mother. I was always picked on even by people I was older than. I was skinny; I looked weak but never felt weak. Despite the entire negative perceptions in people’s heart about me or what I think they thought about me due to some of their expressions towards me. I never ever gave up! I suffered; sometimes I kept to myself, not wanting to get involved so I won’t be hurt. But within myself confinement came the biggest miracle, I was asking questions people my age where not asking because they were having a great time playing and having fun. I’m not insinuating that fun for a child is not amazing, but my life made me to know that fun; when it becomes excess can rob you of who you are and questioning is the truest form of gaining higher knowledge far beyond your age or time.
In my gloom I found out that every tough condition is embedded with miracles and only you can unravel it. These conditions, in real sense of it are not negative but an event in time to make you reason and act in a different way and come out with solutions that are positively life changing. You certainly can’t change if you keep thinking and acting the same way.
Imagine if you are a seed planted in the ground. You will scream for help, begging your planter to have mercy, expressing your desire to see the sunshine if you are lucky enough not to be cooked and eaten. The seed is buried, and when it starts to look like it is breaking apart because of of water which will seem like decomposition to the lay man. However, few days later a new life will spring forth from the earth.
I don’t know what you are going through right now but whatever it is I have this to say, stop seeing it as an unending evil happening to you, look at the bright side of life and squarely face the challenges it has thrown at you. Like the seed, your challenges are equal to you; they will make a finer, newer and bigger breed out of you. When the seed begins to look like it is breaking apart is actually when the life changing and uplifting moments are taking place. When it truly seems like it is getting too hard and all doors are closing in on you and the lay men are thinking “yeah, he is finished”, just know that an uplifting and more enchanting chapter of your life is about to begin.
However, we are more complicated than the seed, we can distort our own growth process, and we can hinder or limit our metamorphosis. We can hinder our ability to come out of growth disguised as limitation when we stop believing, quit acting, start taking drugs or drinking away the situation you are suppose to face being alert, or start cheating on your spouse to get ahead financially or drown in self-pity and hopelessness.
Never give up mate, embrace your condition with keen observation while looking towards a greener pasture. Learn the lessons it is teaching. Take charge by accepting the responsibility to act within your capacity (limitless) to move ahead. take each day at a time and instead of having a negative imagination of how worst it is going to get, start seeing how wonderful, enriching and fantastic it is going to turn out to be.
You are human and have being giving the power of choice, so use it for your good and not against yourself. You can do this, I did. I have a wonderful wife that shows me all the love I never had, beautiful kids I’m showing all the love I was never shown. I'm Having a great life now and looking ahead to a more fantastic, loving and enriching future.
You can do this, laugh off the pain, start seeing your condition as the right situation you need to pull yourself together, think deep and break forth. Surround yourself with people that encourage you and not the ones that pull you down. Mix with the happy and optimistic crowd like the diplomat assembly or Christ embassy and not pessimistic and blame trading crowd.
You were born to shine, see every condition as an opportunity for growth. In all situations there is always something to lean. Let them talk, let them think but let your own thinking, talking and acting be for your growth, encouragement, hope and ultimately winning.
Never ever give up.
